- Keep Schools Safe - A collection of resources to help make schools safer.
- National School Safety Center - NSSC works with local school districts and communities in developing customized safe school training and planning programs. School districts facing major crises or specific school safety problems may call the Center for on-site technical assistance and training. In addition, NSSC serves as a clearinghouse for current information on school safety issues, maintaining a resource center with more than 50,000 articles, publications and films.
- National School Safety & Security Services - National School Safety and Security Services is a Cleveland, Ohio-based, national consulting firm specializing in school security and crisis preparedness training, security assessments, and related safety consulting for K-12 schools, law enforcement, and other youth safety providers.
- Indiana School Safety Specialist Academy - The Indiana School Safety Specialist Academy will provide on-going, certified training and information on national and state best practices, as well as exemplary resources for school safety, security, intervention/prevention, and emergency preparedness planning. School safety specialists will be trained to lead the development and implementation of school safety practices which will provide safe educational environments for all students in Indiana.
- Surgeon General's Report on Youth Violence - The Surgeon General's report challenges a number of false notions and misinterpretations about youth violence and debunks myths about violence and violent youth.
- FEMA Kids - The Federal Emergency Management Agency's website is available to parents, teachers and students. It is mostly geared toward elementary age students but some of the material may be useful in middle school. The site is designed to teach children about natural disasters and their effects. There are sections with parent/teacher resources and information on free materials that are available through FEMA. The children's section includes games, coloring pages, quizzes, stories, and artwork by children about disasters, and a lot of great information about current and past natural disasters. After completing a checklist, children can receive a FEMA Kids certificate. It is a colorful user-friendly site.
