Policies & Bylaws
The Board of School Trustees of Greater Clark County Schools is the governing agency of the school corporation on behalf of the State of Indiana under the General Powers Act and other legislation pertaining to schools as enacted by the Indiana General Assembly. The Board exercises its responsibilities by establishing policies to cover routine operations and by decisions as needed on non-routine matters. In any situation of conflict between Board policy and current state law, the current law applies.
In general, Board policies are meant to establish management responsibilities for all areas of school operation and to set standards of performance, achievement, and/or behavior for students and employees of the corporation.
Board policy allows for the establishment of rules for individual schools by the administration whenever those rules are consistent with Board policy and are filed with the Board.
