The Jeffersonville High School Library Media Center houses over 20,000 print and non-print titles in a centrally located facility comprising two computer labs, a reference room, an office/workroom, storage areas, and other special purpose spaces.
The media center is open from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Students must have a blue pass to enter the media center and must sign in and sign out. For access to the media center during study hall and lunch, a student must obtain a pass from the media specialist. Students may check out a maximum of two books for three weeks at a time. Reference materials and newspapers do not circulate; videos are loaned to staff members only. There is no charge for overdue materials, however replacement cost is charged for lost items.
Staff and students may search for materials using the card catalog on any of the computers in the Media Center. The computers are also used for word processing, to conduct Internet research using online resources and student email. Please note, each student must have on file in the media center school a signed copy of the GCCS Internet Acceptable Use Agreement to use any networked computer in Jeffersonville High School.
The JHS student ID serves as the student library card. ID cards can be replaced in the media center for $5.00
